Residential and Commercial Construction

The Residential and Commercial Construction pathway will provide students with the skills and experiences necessary to advance into a career in construction.


This pathway is highly collaborative, project-based, and actively hands-on!


Students will learn how to:

  • use power and hand tools safely

  • read & interpret construction drawings

  • apply math to real construction projects

  • frame walls, ceilings, and floors

  • hang doors & windows

  • perform masonry work, frame roofs, install shingles on roofs, apply exterior finishes, and build and install stairs


Architectural Design

If you like working with computers to create designs for human interaction, for example: homes, buildings, landscaping, office spaces, play areas, a real life Minecraft, this is the path for you.


The Foundation of Architectural Design will develop skills in:

  • Mechanical Drawing basics

  • Reading and Developing Technical drawings

  • Developing concepts

  • Fundamental tool usage

  • Basic model construction

  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) software fundamentals

  • Architectural history, styles, and conventions


Modern Architectural Design requires creativity and innovation, students will further develop their foundational skills and will:


  • identify and understand the needs of the client.

  • apply skills and knowledge to design meaningful architectural solutions.

  • engage in experiences that will challenge and inspire them to express themselves creatively and with a designer’s mindset.

  • prepare students for a career in Architecture, Design, and/or Engineering.

Engineering
