Welcome to your first year of C-CAP, where your journey begins with discovering who you are. This year is all about understanding your interests, values, and strengths — the foundation of your personal story. You’ll start shaping your future by exploring different careers and setting your first goals.
Throughout the year, your advisory lessons and activities will guide you through four important steps:
Q1: Who Am I?
Dive into self-awareness by identifying what makes you unique and what you care about.
Q2: Where Am I Going?
Begin exploring careers that connect with your strengths and interests.
Q3: How Will I Get There?
Learn the basic skills and create your first resume to prepare for opportunities.
Q4: What Will I Contribute?
Reflect on your growth this year and think about how you can contribute to your community and school.
By the end of 9th grade, you’ll have started building your Nā Aliʻi Digital Portfolio, collecting important work that shows your growth and readiness for what’s next.
These lessons are intentionally aligned with the HIDOE Personal Transition Plan Benchmarks - 9th Grade benchmarks and are designed to support students as they:
1. Evaluate potential career choices in relation to personal interests, strengths, and values
2. Assess the compensation, lifestyle, and other benefits associated with careers of interest
3. Develop individual education and career goals
4. Develop career portfolio that documents evidence of progress toward the attainment of personal, educational, and career goals
