The Wellness Collective is a campaign promoting students' self-esteem and healthy goals within the education system. It focuses on teaching ways to appreciate one's success rather than comparing with peers. We emphasize how self-comparison can take away one's happiness as well as the importance of valuing identity when surrounded by uniqueness.
Our mission is to empower students to overcome the cycle of academic comparison and external pressures by promoting a supportive community to help highschool students thrive with a balanced lifestyle.
We do it because we care. We recognize the competitive school environment we are in, and the behavior of our classmates that go through stress and unhealthy comparison.
We want to help out our friends and teach the community how to cope & take care of themselves. In the process, we also get a chance to reflect on our own mental health.
We plan to continue addressing the issue of self-comparison within our campus as well as promoting achievable goals. We will make more events centered around our other protective factors as we plan to expand our audience into our community beyond just students by working with teachers and faculty. We hope to reach out to more professionals outside our school environment to enlarge our impact.
