The city of Zenog was once a thriving technological city. Located on an island in the middle of the Malartry Gulf, Zenog served as a checkpoint for passing ships, allowing them to refuel and restock on supplies. Because of this constant exposure to trade, Zenog officials placed a heavy emphasis on pushing the limits of steam and electrical technology. During this time, the citizens and businesses thrived, attracting more and more people to the island. Buildings became clad in bronze and brass and there was a strong emphasis on beauty and art.
The layout of New Zenog was a difficult task. To replicate the feel of real-world cities, the city is based around the city hall, which also happens to be Zy’s house. In the center of the city lies a common area filled with shops and civilians, as well as a large bronze fountain. The fountain serves as a symbol of beauty within the city and a stark contrast to the rest of the high-tech city. The surrounding buildings are lined with black and bronze metals, with streaks of blue energy. This is again highlighted by other aspects such as streetlights and generators. The blue energy surging through the city gives it a feeling of being alive and well. A big inspiration for this layout was from the University Courtyard, and Piltover from Riot Games’ television show, Arcane.
To keep a distinct feel from the other city, Cobehaven utilizes hexagonal buildings and roads. This is not only to separate themselves from the citizens of New Zenog, but also to establish a sense of unity under the dictatorship of Mr. Bad. Buildings have a darker tint of bronze due to the filth and dirt, and roads are filled with cracks from flooding. There is a lack of organization among the slums which is a dramatic change from the city it once was 10 years ago.
