Project Objective: Create CAD representations of parts of a puzzle cube with correct dimensions. Then, create drawings of 5 parts of a disassembled cube and dimension them accordingly. Assemble the cube then make an exploded pictorial with an attached parts list on a page.
Design Process: I was first instructed to make the different parts of this puzzle cube on Inventor, a software used to construct theoretical representations of an object, and afterward, I used the newly created parts to construct IDWs which hosted unshaded front, right side, and top views along with a shaded isometric view. Then, I dimensioned all the pieces with the correct given dimensions. Moving on, I transitioned to assembling the cube and after this, I created an isometric pictorial that showed where each piece was supposed to go. Then I created a new sheet that had the isometric view of my assembled cube and my exploded pictorial. Using the assembled cube, I finished it off with a parts list.
Learning Target: The learning target was to get more familiar with the different tasks that could be undertaken in Inventor and practice dimensioning.
Personal Reflection: This project was extremely helpful in understanding all of the different parts of Inventor, it offered a broad overview of the software. I feel that I did quite well on this project as I did all the dimensioning and used all the different parts correctly. It was an extremely beneficial project to deepen my understanding of Inventor.
