Modern Baseball’s potential return

Back in February 2017, a well known emo-punk indie rock band called Modern Baseball created by Brendan Lukens, Jake Ewald, Ian Farmer, and Sean Huber, went on a hiatus with no updates on if they were coming back or not due to members struggling with their mental health and overall needing a break.  

After the band broke up, fans were more than devastated, their favorite relatable band now split up with no word on when or if they were going to come back. Multiple posts and comments were made online, fans proud that one of the members could talk about he was struggling openly, but also extremely affected by this as Modern Baseball is known to make songs that are relatable to adults and even teens.

In June 2024, fans of Modern Baseball got a notification that there has been a new release. Although many were hoping it was a new album, it was only the demos of two of their already released songs, "Rock Bottom" and "Pothole". This gave fans a small hope that maybe over the summer the band may release another new song or album, or maybe even announce that they were getting back together, however this never happened, and the members did not say anything further. 

In October 2025, Modern Baseball posted a countdown on Spotify for their new album, The Perfect Cast Ultimate Edition, which comes out on October 23rd. This album includes previously released songs, new songs, songs sung live, and acoustic versions of their released songs. This gave fans another hope that the band would be getting back together.

As well as a new release coming out, there are many other hints suggesting the potential comeback of Modern Baseball. A member of the band was seen at a Marietta’s concert, a band who they frequently collabed and made music with. Members also posted online a long essay on their new release, adding that there will be new surprises that the fans should be looking forward to, especially those who have not seen them live. The post ended with a “talk soon”, and the band has not spoken publicly about anything else.

Although these hints could just lead to new merch or maybe only a new song, many fans are still hoping for the big return of Modern Baseball.

Taylor Swift’s new album 'The Life of a Showgirl' breaks records selling 4 million copies

          Taylor Swift’s new album reached over four million sales within the first week of the album being released. She was given the number one song on Billboard 200, overall being the largest album for first week sales.

          Swift broke numerous records with her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl”. One of many being the largest amount of first week sales in history. She was the first person to break that record since 1991. 

           On top of that, Swift also broke Spotify records, becoming the most pre-saved album in Spotify history. Gaining over six million saves. She also had the highest single day streams on Spotify.

           Her album resulted with all 12 songs being the top 12 on Billboard 100. The first time for any artist in history. All songs took the first 12 slots on the first day of release.

James Arthur’s ‘Pisces’ Explores Relationships and Self Reflection

On ‘Pisces,’ James Arthur gives a piece of his soul; navigating love, loss and recovery. On April 25 of this year, James Arthur dropped his latest album. This album dives deep into the artist’s past, along with the moments leading up to the present. He displays a ton of vulnerability into these 12 songs. 

The album consists of twelve songs; ADHD, Celebrate, Embers, KARAOKE, Summer, Cruel, Gucci (interlude), F.R.I.E.N.D.S, Yeah No, Water, and Hallelujah. In a video, Arthur spoke about his song F.R.I.E.N.D.S, where he told the world why he wrote it. He wrote this song as a response to the passing of the late ‘Friends’ star, Matthew Perry. He explained that as he wrote the song, he began to realize how much he resonated with the struggle of fame. This also tied into the passing of his late friend and One Direction member, Liam Payne.

ADHD, Celebrate, Embers, and KARAOKE were released prior to the album itself. He did this to bring attention and raise the anticipation for his new album. He achieved this as he has 35.5 million people listening to him. 

James Arthur’s music is inspired by his own personal stories and events that have happened to him from his early days up until now. He has come a long way from his tough upbringing, along with his struggles of ADHD and addiction. He got his big breakthrough after winning the ninth series of X factor in 2012 with his song ‘ Impossible’. Arthur now lives in the UK with his daughter, Emily. 

When I was little, the first song I heard of his was ‘Impossible’. It was at that point that I fell in love with his music. I would make my parents play his album, ‘James Arthur’ constantly. Ever since, I listen to him every day. I am now going to his Pisces Tour concert in June. 

‘Pisces’ solidifies James Arthur’s place as a sincere storyteller in the music industry.

Nostalgia hits Gaga hard, bringing her back to music with her new album “Mayhem”

Lady Gaga went back to a New York bar she used to visit often earlier in her career, where she used to write songs. This visit back to a place where she once felt disconnected from herself, and lost in this world, brought her peace, and caused her to reminisce back to her early years.  

After her album Chromatica released in 2020, Gaga took a hiatus from music, and after almost five long years, she released her new album Mayhem on March 7th of this year, returning to dark pop. During that time, she had been mainly focused on jazz styled music, as her role as “Harlequin” in the film “Joker: Folie à Deux” released in 2024.

When she rediscovered her long time passion for music after focusing on herself, and surrounding herself with those she can truly trust, she really put her soul into this new album. This new album Mayhem really brings out the old Gaga, which fans are loving all over social media, and were eager when she teased three songs from her new album “Disease” and “Zombie Boy”, which played for a split second in the “Disease” music video, along with “Abracadabra.”

There are 14 singles on this new track, and have been doing incredible on the charts, with around 45.5 million streams on its first day on the global Spotify chart. The numbers are still going up, showing that this new album is popular amongst her fans. 

She is most famously known for a number of things, like her most famous albums "The Fame," "Born This Way," and "Chromatica", featuring songs we all know and love “Just Dance,” “Bad Romance,” and “Born This Way”. Not only is she known for her music, but also for her performance at the 2009 VMAs, where she sang another popular song of hers, “Paparazzi”, and when she wore a dress made from raw beef to the 2010 MTV Music Video Awards to make a statement against the Militaries "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

Overall, it's safe to say that Lady Gagas passion for dark pop has come back, and that the fans are absolutely loving it. 

Kanye West, one of contemporary hip-hop’s most influential, modernizing rappers in music industry

Kanye West, rapper, record producer, and fashion designer, raised in Chicago Illinois, known for having ahead of his time and creative music is observed as one of the most influential people in the world. From his first song released in 1996 to his most recent album in 2024, and his clothing brand Yeezy, making him one of the greatest artists of all time. 

     Kanye West is a world-renowned rapper, record producer, and fashion designer. Kanye is considered one of the most influential persons in the music industry, let alone the entire world. Kanye is known for having different and ahead-of-his-time music, from hip-hop and rap to gospel. Other than music, Kanye also had his own clothing brand, Yeezy. Yeezy sells all types of clothes, as well as known shoes.

     Kanye was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He started producing music in 1996 in Chicago. Kanye dropped his first song in 1996 called, 1996 Fat Beats Freestyle. However, his first hit song was Slow Jamz in the album The College Dropout which was published in 2004.

     Kanye tried to focus on a deeper meaning in his songs. Trying to public music that everyone can relate to, not just music that represents himself. Weirdly though, Kanye had a funny reason to start making music, he saw how rappers paid their producers. That’s pretty basic, isn’t it?

     Kanye is considered very controversial because of his public hate speech over the last few years. Kanye is “full of himself” as some may say, which is reasonable. However, many people believe Kanye is very passionate and authentic due to the nature of his work. Revealing that his music saves him from being controversial. It can be challenging to separate the artist from their real life image. 

     Kanye may seem hated in some people’s perspectives, but he is one of the greatest rappers and producers in the world.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA announce Grand National Tour 2025

Kendrick Lamar and SZA have announced the North American Grand National Tour, which will take place in the spring and summer of 2025. 

The news arrived two weeks after Kendrick Lamar released his newest album, GNX. The album contains two songs featuring pop and R&B singer SZA, “Luther” and “Gloria.” The album contains key aspects of anger and well-owned confidence, very similar to his Grammy-nominated song “Not Like Us,” which he directed toward his feud with well-known rapper Drake.

On December 20th, just weeks after the tour announcement, SZA released her third studio album, “LANA”, which features Lamar in her “30 for 30” track. The album has a total of 15 new songs, plus 8 songs featured from her last album, “SOS”. 

The duo’s tour begins on April 19th in Minneapolis. Proceeding that, they will make their way to Houston (TX), Arlington (TX), Atlanta (GA), Charlotte (NC), Philadelphia (PA), East Rutherford (NJ), Foxborough (MA), Seattle (WA), Los Angeles (CA), Glendale (AZ), San Francisco (CA), Las Vegas (NV), St. Louis (MO), Chicago (IL), Detroit (MI), Toronto (ONT), Hershey (PA), and Washington. They will conclude their tour on June 18th, after two months, in Landover, Maryland.

Ticket presales for Cash App Visa Cardholders went live on December 4th. General sale for tickets launched on December 6th. Both sales ended up being very successful, with seats being sold out in just minutes.

With the tour coming in just 3 months, fans of both parties are eager to see what the two music sensations have in store.

Spotify Wrapped 2024, Top Artists and Music

It’s finally that time of year again. Spotify Wrapped 2024 is here, showing listeners their top artists and songs of the year. 

Spotify releases its wrapped every year since 2016. This shows listeners breakdowns of how their music has changed from the beginning of the year to the end. This is the biggest time of the year for Spotify. Wraps are created for every single listener, showing the top songs, artists, genres, albums, and podcasts all in one display. 

People are constantly posting their wrapped all over social media for others to see and compare. As well as finding out Top 10 songs and artists, listeners also have access to see their Top 100 songs of the year. These songs are aimed to give listeners a feeling of nostalgia. 

Spotify also creates a playlist for the top songs and artists of the year globally. Taylor Swift took the crown in 2023 for being Spotify’s most streamed artist. So it’s no surprise she was named 2024 artist of the year as well. The release of her 18th album, The Tortured Poets Department, skyrocketed and took the spot for most streamed album of the year. She is on fire.

Following Taylor in line for most streamed artist, second comes Drake, and third is Zach Bryan. Bryan released The Great American Bar Scene on July 4th, 2024. His first lead single, “Pink Skies,” was released May 24th, 2024 and hit Number 3 on the Top 100 songs. Sabrina Carpenter released the song, “Espresso” and it hit Number 1 most streamed song of 2024 in the U.S. and globally. Now that’s an accomplishment.

Dua Lipa announces Radical Optimism Tour 2025

On September 12th, Dua Lipa announced her 2025 world tour ‘Radical Optimism’ via Instagram. The kickoff to her North American leg sets on September 2025 in Chicago. This will be her third tour overall, including the U.S. In the twenty dates, the Albanian and English singer will be visiting Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta, and Toronto.

Presale tickets went live on September 19th at 10 a.m. local time, but now are available for general sale. Tickets for her appearance at the ACT Fest next month are also on sale at the moment. Lipa will be performing alongside trending headliners: Tyler the Creator, Chappell Roan, Blink-182, and Chris Stapleton.

This tour goes along with ‘Radical Optimism’, her third studio album released last May, hence the name of the tour. The pop star originally announced her tour for Asia dates only, when the album came out. She shocked the media back in July, with her announcement of her first ever headlining show at Wembley Stadium in London.

The countdown begins now to see what the pop sensation has in store for the Americans next year!

The Weeknd, Playboi Carti release new song, “Timeless”

The Weeknd and Playboi Carti have officially released their new Song "Timeless." The Weeknd, being on tour, previewed 7 new songs In São Paulo, Brazil. “Timeless” followed the lead single “Dancing In The Flames”, are the only 2 of 7 out now.  

Released on September 27th, produced by Pharrell Williams, Mike Dean, Ojivolta and Twisco, “Timeless” is the second collaboration between The Weeknd and Playboi carti, after “Popular.” “Popular” was created for Abel Tesfaye’s show "The Idol" and featured Madonna as well. The Weeknd also released “Dancing In The Flames.” These releases are the build up for his new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow

The new album will be a final part of The Weeknd's Trilogy of albums. Starting with After Hours in 2020, followed by Dawn FM released in 2022 and finally Hurry Up Tomorrow, which does not have an official release date but is expected within 2024.   

Three days after the song release, The Weeknd and Playboi Carti have dropped the awaited music video. Directed by Gunner Stahl, critics approved of the video. Fans took to social media to express their anticipation for the album.  One saying “THIS DUO IS 2/2, WE NEED MORE COLLABS”. Another chiming in saying, “Carti literally unleashed his entire inventory/repertoire of voices in this song!” 

“Timeless” launched on No. 43 on the Hot 100. “Dancing In The Flames” ranked 14 on the Hot 100 last week, marking the start of Abel Tesfaye’s Hurry Up Tomorrow era.

Billie Eilish’s ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ World Tour

Billie Eilish’s ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’ world tour began on September 29th, 2024, in Quebec City, Canada and will end on July 27th, 2025 in Dublin, Ireland. Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell, aka Billie Eilish, is a 22-year-old American singer and song-writer. 2015 was when she started to gain recognition for a song, called ‘Ocean Eyes’ she sang for her older brother, Finneas, which he originally wrote for his band, but instead asked her if she would sing it. Eilish has three studio albums including When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, Happier Than Ever and Hit Me Hard And Soft. She also has one live album, one video album, two EPs (extended plays) and around thirty-four singles, most, if not all, of these are co-written and produced by her brother. Currently, Billie Eilish has a total of nine Grammys, two Oscars, and many other awards. 

Billie’s most recent album, ‘Hit Me Hard And Soft’, was released on May 17th of 2024. There are a total of ten songs on this album, which include, "SKINNY," "LUNCH," "CHIHIRO," "BIRDS OF A FEATHER," "WILDFLOWER," "THE GREATEST," "L’AMOUR DE MA VIE," "THE DINER," BITTERSUITE," and "BLUE." This album focuses on and explores love, sexuality and the emotions that come with both of these. On April 29th, she announced the dates of the tour for her new album and tickets for all areas she will be in, sold out extremely quickly. 

Though this tour is more for her new album, she will be performing some of her older music as well. These include songs from Happier Than Ever, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go, a few of her singles and more! She’ll be playing all songs from HMHAS. Songs from Happier Than Ever that she is performing are NDA, Therefore I Am, Male Fantasy, Oxytocin and Happier Than Ever. She’ll perform When The Party’s Over, ilomilo, bad guy, you should see me in a crown and bury a friend, which are all from When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go. Other songs include "TV," "everything i wanted," "lovely," "idontwannabeyouanymore," "ocean eyes," "What Was I Made For" and "Guess." 

This tour is Billie’s first ever tour without Finneas because he will be going on his own tour. On TikTok, someone who went to one of Billie’s HMHAS concerts posted a video of Billie talking to the crowd about being there without her brother. In the video, Billie says, “He’s not here, but he’s my best friend in the world. I miss him on this stage with me. And this is my first show without him in my life and it’s very upsetting, but it’s love, and it’s awesome, and I love you Finneas.” This won’t be forever though because she added two additional tour dates, December 20th and 21st, and it is said that on December 21st, Finneas will be there with her.

Though this tour has just started, and she still has a long way to go before it’s over, Billie Eilish has already created performances, that are extremely astounding and amazing, for her fans.

Taylor Swift Drops Double Album Containing 31 songs

Taylor Swift shocked many of her fans by dropping 31 new songs on April 19th. Fans knew about 15 of the songs, but a 2am surprise led to another 16 songs. Some people love the album, some people don’t. The album is more of a soft pop album. 

The album is about many different people in her life such as Matty Healy, Joe Alwyn, Travis Kelce, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and her fans. Many people first thought the album was just going to be about Joe and their breakup. All the songs have their own personal meaning to them. 

Fans are speculating if Taylor is going to add songs from this new album into her concert. Taylor made some posts and was practicing with a new microphone, which most likely means she is adding some songs. Taylor made history, having 10 of her new songs in the top 10 spots of the billboard 100. 

Taylor Swift got the most streams in US history on this new album. She is constantly breaking records when it comes to Spotify and Apple Music. Taylor Swift keeps shocking her fans and creating history with all of her new music.

New Bears in Trees Album Released

Dirtbag boy band Bears in Trees has released their latest album How to Build an Ocean: Instructions worldwide on April 26th, and since embarked on a tour across Europe and the U.K. with American band The Happy Fits to share their self-described “best album we have ever made”--and first independently published album following their decline of an offer from a major label offer--with the world.

Bears in Trees is a group made up of four creative humans: Nick Peters (he/him, guitar and lyrics), Callum Litchfield (he/him, ukulele, piano, and vocals), Iain Gillespie (they/them, bass guitar, vocals, and lyrics), and George Berry (he/him, drum set, percussion, and production). They generally reject genre labels, and describe themselves as a “dirtbag boy band,” “dirtbag” after the climbers who lived on the fringe of society, surviving illegally out of backpacks in Yosemite National Park, and “boyband” because, according to the band, “you can’t deny their boyish charm.” The ensemble was formed in Croydon, South London, in 2014, and released their first collection of songs, “Let’s Sleep On It” in 2015. In 2017, they released their next album, “Just Five More Minutes,” as well as their EP “Bits n’ Pieces.” The EP “I See Blue'' came out in 2019, and 2020 yielded EPs “I Want To Feel Chaotic” and “Keep Me Safe.” Their two-song collection “Flower Through Concrete'' was released in spring of 2020. Later that year, the band released their first full-length studio album under Counter Intuitive Records, “and everybody else smiled back” (all lowercase included). In 2022, they released EP “Every Moonbeam, Every Fever Dream,” in 2023 a revision of a collection of their previous work under the name “before you got here” (all lowercase once again intended), and, most recently, “How to Build an Ocean: Instructions.” They currently have about 132K monthly listeners.

Things That Look Like Mistakes, I Wanna Feel Calm, Hot Chocolate, and We Don’t Speak Anymore had been released as singles prior to their release as part of the larger album, and received much acclaim from Bears in Trees’ small community of listeners. Since their early release, Things That Look Like Mistakes and I Wanna Feel Calm have become the group’s second and third most popular songs. Their most popular song by far has remained Ramblings of a Lunatic from the album “I Want To Feel Chaotic.” Currently, How to Build an Ocean: Instructions is number sixty-four in the U.K. album charts.

Songs on the album How to Build an Ocean: Instructions explore topics such as self acceptance in the face of societal pressure, the juxtaposition of feeling one’s feelings but not letting them consume you, the romanticization of emotions, complexities of friendships, and a multitude of other sentiments up for interpretation by the band and their audience. The album, the band members say, was “born out of seeing the world and experiencing everything before returning home and feeling like you are back where you started,” and, when asked to sum up How to Build an Ocean: Instructions, one word stood out to the group: “iconic.” In describing their songwriting process, Iain shared that “It’s all about not shying away from the song. We should see every song for what it is and be confident that it will be solid. Then, we started to do even more outrageous stuff because we had to do what the song asked us to do.” 

Ultimately, though, the beautiful thing about music of any genre is that it can take on a multitude of meanings for different people, a notion that the members of Bears in Trees actively embrace. Speaking on this theme, Nick shares his perspective that “as much as I can mean one specific thing, once a song is out, and it becomes a public body of work, it comes from them instead of us. The reasons they want to tattoo it on their body or make art based around it. I’m happy I can put a song out, so people can find meaning. I’m even happier than one line can mean ten different things to so many people.” In this way, the band has cultivated an accepting, welcoming, diverse audience of listeners and supporters who embrace genuine enthusiasm and excitement regarding life and creativity.

'Tyler, The Creator' album being worked on rumor spreads

Tyler Gregory Okonma or "Tyler, The Creator" has fans in a jumble after rumor about a new album spreads. The first evidence that fans believed is that Tyler releases an album every odd numbered year, from Goblin in 2011 to Call Me If You Get Lost in 2021. It wouldn't make sense if he skipped a year. 

The second part of believing there is a new album is Tyler's clothing brand "Golf Le Fleur". For his most recent album Call Me If You Get Lost, the name was spotted during the 2020 Grammys. It was seen on a tag in Tyler's famous bellhop outfit. More recently, the words "Welcome to the Disco" were spotted on Golf items. 

Another thing that points towards a new album is the fact that Tyler has wanted to release a disco. In an old tweet, Tyler claimed that one day he'd like to make a disco album. Now that he has grown a much larger audience since 2011, he has much more freedom to create what he wants. 

Though, all slivers of hope that find their way into fans lives are ultimately ruined when Tyler tweets that the rumors were false. However, he was glad fans were excited for new music. There is also the chance that he is lying and trying to cover up the album, but fans doubt that. There is still hope for a new Tyler album this year, just not called "Welcome to the Disco."

Taylor Swift fans, ‘Swifties,’ furious with global ticket site, Ticketmaster

November 15th of 2022 was a remarkable day for ‘Swifties’ across the nation, and not necessarily in a good way. Taylor Swift fans were exhilarated after Swift announced her highly anticipated US ‘Eras Tour,’ after the release of her 10th album, Midnights. After not touring since 2018, the demand for tickets was incredibly hard to handle for the ticket site.

Ticketmaster, owned by Live Nation Entertainment, faced backlash after fans were stuck on the website for hours, as the site crashed every few minutes. Swift has said that it was “excruciating” to watch fans struggle getting tickets, and that she was previously assured that the site could handle the overwhelming demand. On the contrary, fans being beaten by bots is certainly not what they promised. 

This debacle caused an existential amount of chaos, that it forced Ticketmaster to cancel the general sale scheduled for the day after the presale. This made fans even more fired up, as thousands were left in the dark, unable to see the A-Lister that hasn’t toured in five years. 

Swift’s 52-showed US leg successfully sold 2.4 million tickets, but 14 million people in total struggled to put them in their cart, or even enter the website. However, Swift’s fans will do anything to fight back and make sure they get what Ticketmaster failed to give them. Ticketmaster and its owners need to address their complications in the mirror, and admit: “I’m the problem, it’s me.”

Taylor Swift announces new album

Taylor Swift announced at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards that she will be releasing a new album on October 21st. This album will be called Midnights. Midnights will consist of 13 brand-new tracks. The CD version will include three bonus tracks. One of these will be a new song. The two other songs will be remixes of other songs on the new album. This is Swift's tenth studio album. 

She announced the album after she won three awards at the MTV Video Music Awards. She won video of the year, the best long-form video, and the best direction for her short film "All Too Well" the ten-minute version. 

She told fans that her brand new album would be coming out on October 21st. She described this album as "the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.” She also said "This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.” Fans are very excited for Swift's new album. 

Harry Styles releases new album

Harry Styles recently released Harry’s House on May 20,2022. It quickly became the “fastest-selling album of 2022” according to the Official Charts Company. The album featured 13 new songs. “As It Was” was the first single released on April 1st, 2022. In the United States, it got 8.3 million streams in one day and became the most streamed worldwide track in one day on Spotify. At Coachella on April 22, 2022 he sang two more unreleased songs from the album, “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking.” Harry’s House consists of both sad and upbeat songs. 

Harry Styles is touring in North America, South America, Europe, and more. He has been on Love on Tour since September 4th, 2021. Currently, Styles has been performing at Madison Square Garden in New York since August 20th. His last night there is September 21st. Styles will continue to tour in the US until November 15, 2022. Unless more dates are added, Styles will keep performing until July 22, 2023.
