East Bridgewater track teams badly defeat Randolph

By: Anonymous, 12

5/21/24

The East Bridgewater boys and girls track teams blew Randolph away in competition. On April 30, 2024, the East Bridgewater track teams had yet another town to beat. With an undefeated record for the season so far, the boys knew what they had to do in order to keep their reputation safe. Although the girls had already lost some track meets prior to this event, they did enough to beat Randolph in the events that really mattered.

The boys were led by senior Chris Oman, who pulled away with wins in boys triple jump and boys shot put. Junior Emmanuel Nelson left his competition behind in the 200m dash, and senior Colin DeChambeau took first in the 800m race. Other winners consisted of seniors Brennan Shea, Aidan Toomey, and Sean Gurney, who devastated their competition in the 110m hurdles, high jump, and boys discus. Junior Ethan Pohl ditched his opposition in boys javelin, as well.

In similarity to the boys, the girls EB track team came to win against Randolph, as they demolished almost every event with a win. Senior Calice Morton pulled away with a win in the 100m dash, as Freshman Lauren Dona took first in the 400m. Freshman Evelyn Whitlow, Sophomore Bella Bright, and Senior Ella McCarthy all took first in the girls 800, 100m hurdles, and 400m hurdles. Senior Sasha Feron and junior Grace Schnel were both double winners in field events, consisting of discus, shot put, long jump and triple jump.

With eighth graders coming through and qualifying for states, such as Ari Cofran for the girls 800m and javelin, the EB track teams are only getting stronger. With losing the amazing runners, jumpers, and throwers of the senior class, the coaches and underclassmen are prepared for next year, based on what they’ve shown throughout this spring season. These teams are only getting stronger.

Randlph had no chance of even coming close in competition with the well-built, athletic, and determined East Bridgewater boys and girls track teams.

Cinema 5, Landmark of East Bridgewater

By: Christopher Glidden

11/20/23

Cinema 5, a movie theater in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts has always been one of the landmark places for people that live in or around the small town East Bridgewater.

Cinema 5 is a small cinema right near the town center of East Bridgewater. Its old time look and great snacks make it a good place to go with friends and family to see a movie. This place over the years it has been open has grown a great reputation with the town of East Bridgewater as a great place to watch a movie.

Another thing that makes Cinema 5 a great place to watch a movie is that they have great movie selection, as almost all new movies that come out are available to see in Cinema 5. All new and upcoming movies will be available in Cinema 5 which is great so you don't miss anything.

You may be thinking why Cinema 5 is over a huge place like “Showcase” in Randolph where IMAX and 3d movies are available. It's due to cinema 5 being better in its own ways. Cinema 5 has way cheaper prices, making it a great affordable option. The theater provides great customer service and the people who work there are very nice. Also, just the proximity of the place is a huge upside as it is very close by being a walkaway for most people living in East Bridgewater.

Due to it being one of the closest cinemas to East Bridgewater, it has gained a great reputation across the small town. Many people in East Bridgewater go to this cinema to enjoy a great time with friends and family. The people of East Bridgewater love this place and think the town would not be the same without it.

In all, Cinema 5 is a great movie theater in the small town of East Bridgewater. A great place to go with friends and family to have a relaxing time watching a great movie. It may not beat out some of the bigger cinemas, but it has its own upsides that I think sometimes make it better.

Stolen Lambo Issues in Massachusetts

3/30/23

By: Randy D'Ostroph, 10

On Tuesday at 8 am in Wayland, Massachusetts, a man crashed a Lamborghini Urus on a joyride, was stolen from a dealership in Boston. They stole 2 Lamborghini Urus at about 3 am. They have stolen from herb chambers Lamborghini in Boston, Massachusetts. They crashed about 5 hours later into a Kia. Two people fled the scene after crashing the 200,000-dollar cars.

There was one man who was caught and said that it was a mistake. He says that he was picked up and unaware that the cars were stolen. He also says that it was not his fault and that he had nothing to do with it. The man was Elijah Mckinley 18, and he was arrested on the scene and pleaded not guilty.

He got the charges of receiving a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest. They say that he was released to home confinement and is on a GPS or ankle monitor that tracks his every movement. While they got him, they were still in the process of looking for the other two people that fled the scene. They believe that they are the ones who stole these expensive SUVs from the dealership.

The officer were alerted by the dealership's alarm, which stated that it was broken into. They say that the people who broke in smashed a window in the front and grabbed the keys to the two cars in the front lot. They say that the man who was involved was not involved with the stealing of the vehicles and was just picked up. He says that it was a mistake and that he was not guilty.

Best Haunted Houses in Massachusetts

10/14/22

By: Ally Ebrecht, 10

If you're a horror fan or like haunted attractions like me, read this. These three main haunted attractions are good in the Massachusetts area. Those three haunted attractions are Barrett's Haunted Mansion in Abington, MA, Witches Woods in Westford, MA, and Screamfest at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire.

Barretts Haunted Mansion

Barretts Haunted Mansion is the scariest and most thrilling out of the three. This is because there are usually two mini haunted houses and one big mansion. When you first get there it's always so exciting because your adrenaline is so high. The tickets are only $30 dollars, and if you live in Massachusetts it's not that bad of a drive. While you wait in the lines for the haunted houses, people dressed up in scary costumes and makeup come up and try to scare you. The best part about Barretts is the mansion. They also have Abington Ale House right next to Barretts, so if you get hungry you can just go out to eat. Overall Barretts is an 8.5 out of 10.

Witches Woods

The second best-haunted attraction is Witches Woods in Westford, MA. Witches Woods has so many different haunted houses and a really scary haunted hayride, which is personally my favorite. The tickets are $40 dollars each, which isn't bad for three haunted houses and a hayride. The themes for the three haunted houses are clowns, vampires, and asylum. If you are scared of clowns, watch out! You may dread this haunted house. The hayride is always the best part and is just the cherry on top. Most people do the hayride last to end the night. The hay ride is very cool, it takes a group of about thirty and we go into the woods and which brings us around into some cool scenery. Overall Witches Woods is a 7 out of 10.

Screamfest

The last haunted attraction is Screamfest in Salem, New Hampshire. It is located at Canobie Lake Park. Most people may think Screamfest is overrated, and that assumption is a little true. However, the best part about going to Canobie is all the rides and games. The haunted houses themselves are about average. These three house themes are clowns, a farm, and a haunted mansion. The tickets are $49 dollars on Fridays and Sundays, while Saturdays they're $59 dollars. They also have people walk around the park after 6:00PM to scare you while you walk around. Overall Screamfest is rated a 5 out of 10.
