Our world is a place full of beautiful wonders and exquisite sights, but trash and waste still litters every part of the planet. My friend Claire and I have gone to Harold Parker and fished out the empty water bottles that collected in the dam as well. I have also led 2 cleanups through clubs at my school where we picked up trash at a local reservation. A group of students (below) spent a couple hours digging through the trash of Pustell Reservation, land that used to be a pig farm. Every little step is bigger than no step at all!
Before Coronavirus took over, I volunteered after school at South Elementary. I loved going there and being a role model to the kids. Although this does not directly affect the planet, I have been able to demonstrate how to properly care for the planet with recycling and treating everything kindly. In the future, these generations will be the ones left to take care of the Earth. If they are taught young what right and wrong is in more than just behavior, then the planet can and will be a better place.
In the fall of 2021, my friend and I volunteered twice/week as field hockey coaches for a third and fourth grade Andover Youth Services team. As many of the girls had never played before, we taught them basic skills, drills, and games. We had a blast watching their progress and teaching them how to play.
