TOP THREE RESOURCES
thecrashcourse.com - "Crash Course is one of the best ways to educate yourself, your classmates, and your family on YouTube!"
I used thecrashcourse to help reinforce lessons I taught in Biology and business math. After I would provide direct instruction I would find the topic discussed and play the video for the students. I would also upload to Google Classroom for reference later if needed.
5StarStudents.com - Take School Involvement to the Next Level!
Increase student, staff and community engagement with our unique, easy to use system
Track. Student involvement in school activities and events with web, mobile and barcode scanning technology.
Drive. Assign point values and incentives to drive involvement. Identify uninvolved students and get them engaged on your campus.
Recognize. Manage programs to encourage and recognize school involvement. Monitor your progress and publish results online.
I use 5 Star Students for nearly everything I do as an Activities Director. Events are uploaded to 5 star and managed, Points are given for participation in activities, and teachers use 5 star for emergency situations to check students into classrooms. This Platform can change the way your school functions for the better. It also helps support PBIS, if that is something your school implements.
Established in 1957 CADA is the largest statewide support network for Activities Directors in the nation. Our mission is to promote and support leadership development through student activities.
CADA and CASL has helped shape the type of educator I am today. Before I became the Director of Activities here at Rubidoux High School, I was able to attend this wonderful organization as a class advisor. The professional development this organization provides is outstanding. You learn new ways of connecting with your students, overcoming obstacles, and focusing on what is best for our students. If I can suggest one thing to all educators including administration, it would be to attend CADA. Send as many teachers and admin to the state conference, and get involved in this organization.
