SCHOOL DROP OFF + PICK UP INFO

DROP OFF:

As winter brings colder and darker mornings, we kindly ask families to remember that our front doors don't open until 8:00 AM. For student safety, please avoid dropping off your child before this time, as supervision is not available. We also encourage students to wear reflective gear during these darker months to help keep them visible.

PICK UP:

Teachers remain outside with students for 10 minutes after dismissal. To ensure all students are supervised and safe, any child not picked up within that time will be taken to our after school program, HEADQUARTERS (Room B217). To pick up your child, call Christine Elliott at (281)797-1379, so that she can let you inside the building or bring your child down to you.

Please be prepared to show your ID at pickup.

ATTENDANCE

If your child is absent (sick, out of town, etc.), please notify us in one of the following ways:

Online: Fill out our quick Absence Report form. Absence Report Link.
Email: Contact your child's teacher AND the office at jccs@juneauschools.org.
Phone: Call the office at (907)796-5800. If there's no answer, please leave a voicemail as Ariana and Gabby are often moving around the building, and checks voicemails frequently.

If your child is absent and we haven't been notified, our office staff will reach out to check in.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: HEADQUARTERS

This program is designed to provide interactive and engaging activities from 3PM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, to support families who need reliable coverage during typical business hours while fostering your child's growth in a safe, structured environment.

Headquarters is supervised by Christine Elliott, one of our intermediate teachers and she is assisted by several individuals on a weekly basis(volunteers encouraged). Also, if your child goes to the BUSROOM, that service will be fused together with the after school program. Those who ride the bus will be led down at the appropriate time to catch the bus to JDHS.

To pick up your child, call Christine Elliott, so that she can let you inside the building or bring your child down to you.
