Principal

I am so happy to serve as principal of JCCS for another year. This is my 30th year in education with 17 of those being in campus or district administration. Originally from Texas, I spent the first 18 years of my career teaching high school and serving as an administrator there. This year is my 8th year in Alaska and my 4th in Juneau and at JCCS. I am proud to be married to my better half, Frances, who teaches at SES-GV. I also have two great daughters - Cai who is a 4th grader and Cia who is a 4 year old who thinks she runs the show. I enjoy doing things outdoors (preferably in the sunshine), movies, travel, and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Hi there! I'm Ariana, and I've been the admin assistant at JCCS since January 2025. I have 2 amazing younger siblings who attend this school, and it's been great being able to be part of their lives in a way that not everyone can. I've lived in Juneau for most of my life and am so grateful to call this beautiful community home. When I'm not at work, I enjoy cozy days with my friends and family or traveling whenever I can. It's such a joy to be part of the JCCS family and watch our Mighty Marmots shine!

Gabby Sloan

Hi! I'm Gabby, and I'm excited to be joining the JCCS Team as an Office Assistant. I'm a Juneau local and a proud UNR graduate, where I studied Psychology, Spanish, and Human Development & Family Science. I've always enjoyed working with people and helping create a welcoming and supportive environment. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, travelling, exploring Juneau, and spending time with my two dogs, Echo and Apollo. I'm so happy to be part of the JCCS community and look forward to getting to know our students and families!

Mike Justa

Math Interventionist/Activities Coordinator

Hi! Im Mike, excited to be focusing on math support, bringing meaningful outdoor learning to our students, and helping facilitate community integration into JCCS this year. I love Juneau for it's mountains, oceans, trails, and community. When not with students, I am likely outside hiking, skiing, engaged in some other outdoor activity, cooking, or spending time with my family.
