School Community Council

For the 2021-2022 school year there are two positions on the Community Council that are open for renewal for another two year term or new members can also apply. Every public school in Utah has a School Community Council. The councils are made up of school employees who are elected by employees and parents who are elected by parents of students attending the school. Membership terms are for two years. Parent members must have a student attending the school at least one of the two years of their term of service. If you are interested in being a member of the School Community Council this school year please come to the office to fill out a form.  Candidate forms are due August 30th, 2021. Elections will be held by private ballot on September 1st from 8:00 a.m.-3:30 pm. Members voted in will be notified on September 3rd. If there is no more than 2 candidates, elections will not need to be held. For more information please visit www.schoollandtrust.org.

Every public school has a school community council consisting of the principal, elected school employees and parents.  Parent members must exceed the principal and staff by at least two. Charter schools may use the charter board if it has a two parent member majority or a process may be set up to elect a Charter Trust Lands Council with a two parent member majority. Parent members are elected by parents. Parent input is important in the decisions made by councils.
