JT Moore has had a competitive Lego FIRST Robotics team for several years. We utilize Lego Mindstorm Robotics software and compete in the FIRST challenge league. We meet weekly and learn coding, engineering, team work and have a fun time. Over the last several years JT Moore has had some awesome teams who have competed at and advanced to the State championships. We have had four teams over the last three years who have qualified and last year we had two teams. Last year our Matador Hackers team won an award at the State championship for their Innovation project, the first ever for an MNPS public school. We strive to be the best we can be and push ourselves to be better every year. We hold tryouts and signups at the beginning of each year and you do not have to have any experience with it. We normally have three teams of 8-10 people, but this year we only have one 4 person team.

This semester we are re-launching the Matador Debate Team! Last year we came away from our tournament with many trophies and medals and a strong desire to win again! We are looking to start our path to victory again with returning and new debaters!

There is no need for debate experience to join our team, you will learn all of the basics along with multiple debate structures and public speaking tips and tricks. If you love to argue, fact-check, think quickly on your feet, and impress people with your knowledge, the Matador Debate Team is for you!
