Overview
Our course is an intensive two-day face-to-face workshop designed to immerse participants in key concepts of problem-solving based on best practices. The focus is on developing the facilitation competencies needed to address complex workplace issues. These competencies encompass a range of skills and attributes that enable a facilitator to effectively guide groups through processes and discussions. It includes communication skills, conflict resolutions, time management, summarizing and synthetizing, apply structure problem solving techniques and the use of various tools to facilitate a group discussion which finally leads to a fruitful outcome.

Overview of facilitation and Its importance.
The essential role in workplace problem solving.
Module 2: Facilitation Competencies
Role of a facilitator: What is and what is not.
Key facilitation skills and attributes.
Module 3: Planning and Organising Meetings
Activities before, during and after the meeting.
Design and plan appropriate group processes: Getting everyone on the same page.
Module 4: Create and Sustain a Parcipatory Environment
Questions: Core fire-starting skill.
Artifacts and meaningful space - Use of various inclusives techniques: The boards, stickies, cluatering, graphics landscape and maps.
Employing visual language and other techniques to improvise data.
Module 5: Guide group to appropriate and useful outcome (Part-I)
Facilitators share core problem solving and decision making tools and lead the applications.
Module 6: Guide group to appropriate and useful outcome (Part II)
Participants can choose from a set of prepared models and tools to co-teach and learn from one another.
Module 7: Facilitation Practice
Application activity: Participant design a meeting session and practice group facilitation in a small group coached by facilitator.
Module 8: Facing the high-heat moment
Dealing with difficult situations in a meeting.
Consensus building: How to maintain a stance of openness and curiosity.
Setting the pace: Manage the time effectively and maintain the energy.
