Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
APFITA 2024 (the 14th International Conference of the Asia-Pacific Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture) will be held in Tsukuba, Japan, on November 6-8, 2024. The theme of the conference is "The Frontiers of Food Systems Originating from Sustainable Agricultural Production in a Data-Driven Society". Authors of papers on DX in agriculture and food systems (IoT, AI, blockchain, drones, agricultural machinery, precision agriculture, and digital marketing) who are presenting at the conference are invited to contribute to this Special Issue.
APFITA 2024 aims to collect high-quality, original papers (including papers on ongoing research ) on agriculture and food system-related DX.
Authors of conference papers that fall under the scope of Sensors are invited to submit extended versions of their papers for this Special Issue. Topics of interest include the following:
1. Food systems using sustainable agricultural production in a data-driven society.
2. Advances in smart agricultural robotics and machinery.
3. AI-enabled agriculture for sustainable growth.
4. High-throughput plant phenotyping technology for data-driven agriculture.
5. Next-generation connectivity: opportunities for 5G and 6G in agriculture.
6. The future of post-harvest engineering.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Sensors is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
