The Asian Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture (AFITA) was founded on January 24, 1998, in Wakayama City, Japan. As the Pacific region's issues on information technology in agriculture complement those of Asian countries, it was decided in the AFITA Board Meeting 2018 to rename the association the Asia-Pacific Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture (APFITA). 

The Japanese Society of Agricultural Informatics will host APFITA2024. APFITA 2024 aims to create a dynamic platform for the exchange and discussion of cutting-edge technologies and innovations in the current and future direction of agricultural and food production systems. The conference highlights the importance of addressing challenges and opportunities faced by the agricultural and food industries in to enhance future food security while ensuring sustainable practices are implemented. The conference will be the medium for identifying emerging trends and addressing the important issues affecting food security and the overall sustainability of agrifood systems in the context of global trends. Participants will engage in critical discussions, proposing innovative solutions to overcome challenges and promoting resilient and adaptive practices.  

The conference organizing committee is pleased to welcome the scientists, researchers in agricultural science and technology, and related fields, as well as graduate students, to submit their papers and actively participate in the upcoming conference. Your valuable contributions and insights will enrich the event and foster meaningful discussions on cutting-edge advancements in agriculture and related disciplines.
