Owls are a symbol of wisdom.
Wisdom comes from more than just knowledge, wisdom comes from experience. A life full of experiences, some of them difficult, has brought you to Valley High School. As an owl you have gained wisdom from difficult experiences that you have worked to overcome. Don't let the darkness of your past stop you from seeing the brightness of your future. Set high goals for yourself and plan on getting more education and working towards a career that you will find enjoyable and fulfilling.
Owls see in the dark.
No mater how dark or uncertain the future may seem, have the courage to take YOUR next step. As counselors, we can provide you with resources to help you take this step, but YOU will have to take action and move forward. By planning your next step towards college or careers you can get a glimpse of YOUR bright future even when it seems dark and uncertain. You don't have to know EXACTLY what you will do for the rest of your life or what will be your highest level of education; you only need to work on what is next.
