Exploring Computer Science

Welcome to Exploring Computer Science!  This class is one semester and counts for your digital studies credit for high school!  The purpose of this class is to introduce you to the field of computer science; if you're new to computer science, this is the right place!  If you have some or lots of coding experience, you may find this class a little boring.

Disclaimer:  Because this class does not start until January, everything below is subject to change.  I haven't decided exactly which coding platform to use (Tech Smart, Game Maker, Code.org, etc)!

What to bring to class:

• Pencil

• Good attitude

What we will be doing:

• Hands-on activities to help you understand computer science concepts and help you develop your "computational thinking" skills

• Web design with code.org's Web Lab

• Introductory coding

  • Potentially with Tech Smart (Python) or Game Maker
