Engineering Technology

Welcome to Engineering Technology!  This class is for 9th grade students only!  We will be taking the Utah Skills Test for this class at the end of the semester, and only 9th grade and above can take it.  The class one semester, and counts for one of your high school CTE credits required for graduation!  There is a $10 lab fee that can be paid on Skyward.

Disclaimer about Engineering:  Engineering is a rewarding and challenging career choice!  It involves drawing (with rulers and other drawing tools), math, science, teamwork, and a lot of grit!  If you're looking for an easy A, this is not necessarily the class for you.  

What to bring to class:

• Pencil with decent eraser

• Graph paper composition notebook (I will be ordering some if you can't get one)

What we will be doing this year:

• Drafting!  (drawing...engineering-style)

• 3D Modeling with On Shape (I will create your account for you)

• 3D Printing with Makerbot and Ender 5 Plus printers

• Working in the shop--band saws, drill presses, power sanders (CO2 Car design)

• Basic Electronics

• Robotics with Lego Spike Prime

• Anything else we can squeeze in...engineering is a big field!!
