College & Career Awareness

Welcome to College and Career Awareness (CCA)!  This is a year-long class that rotates to a different teacher each quarter!  If you're on this page, you have me, Ms. Morrill first.  Your other teachers will be Ms. Holmberg, Ms. Hall, and Ms. Sanders!

In this class you will:

• Explore different careers in the 13 Utah Career Clusters

• Go on a field trip Sept 26 to the Bastian Center to learn about agriculture

• Have guest speakers from various careers (including a Scales and Tails assembly, with lots of animals!)

• Meet and learn from all of our awesome guidance counselors

• Participate in creative, hands-on projects within the career clusters

  • For example...design and build a paper car, develop a lip balm product with a team, code robots, design a logo, cook food, etc.  

  • We cover just about everything except fine arts and athletics, so there's a good chance you'll find something you like!

• Learn about yourself--your interests, aptitudes, and what you value

• Plan for your future!

The goal of this class is to explore and hopefully find something you are passionate about and get you started on that path!

What to bring:

• Pencil

• Charged Chromebook

What we'll be doing in this quarter of CCA:

• Engineering Design with Paper Cars

• Manufacturing with Lip Balm

• Graphic Design with Photoshop (Adobe)

• Simple Game Design with Game Maker

  • Game Maker requires parental permission for any student under age 13.  Please email me if you do not want your student using Game Maker (or if you have questions--students will NOT be giving personal information or logging in)

• Assorted other projects and topics as time and resources permit!
