Teams

The Mustang Battalion offers teams of different focuses, skill sets, and interests. Although it is not required for cadets to participate in teams, there are several benefits that the teams have to offer. Cadets that successfully complete two teams will earn an additional 1/2 elective credit for that year. Teams are a good way to get into better physical condition and develop a tighter social bond with other cadets in the Battalion. Cadets are also able to represent the Battalion in competitions around the state and earn battle streamers for their class. Cadets are also able to earn ribbons, achievement arcs, medals, and cords to wear on their uniforms.

These teams are conducted throughout the school year and are commanded by senior cadets who have participated on that team the previous year. These cadets carry with them the knowledge and expertise of those who came before them. In turn all cadets have an opportunity to become a team commander themselves if they demonstrate a high degree of understanding and proficiency in that team's skill set.

The variety of these teams ranges from overall physical fitness, cross-country endurance running and map reading, marksmanship, saber-spinning, and much more.
