1st 9 Weeks: Students is 6th grade will be completing a unit called Genius Hour. Genius hour is a unit of study that allows students to explore their own passions and encourages creativity in the classroom. It provides students a choice in what they learn thus creating ownership in their education. Star Reach students will brainstorm different concepts, ideas, problems, area of interest and then come up with questions they want to find the answers to. At the culmination of the unit, students will digitally produce a product using apps or websites such as: Flipgrid, AdobeSpark, Youtube, or Google slides. They might also choose to do an in house tutorial or demonstration, or other hands-on visual of what they've learned during the unit and present it to their peers and teachers.
