DOGHOUSE SYSTEM for Behavioral Intervention & Supports
This is a proactive approach to teach and encourage expected behavior and promote academic, social, and emotional success. Each class in part of a house/team that encompasses classes across grade levels. These houses include the House of Gumption, the House of Resilience, the House of Integrity, and the House of Tenacity. The first letter of each house name spells the word GRIT. Students can earn coins (points) for their house by demonstrating GRIT, following the B.A.R.K expectations (see above), going above and beyond what is expected of them, showing good citizenship, putting forth extra effort academically, and helping others. The house with the most points at the end of the week, month, and year will receive special recognition and participate in special activities.
