About Treble Choir

Treble Choir is our beginning choir open to 3rd and 4th grade students. Rehearsals are held Thursday mornings before school throughout the school year from 7:30–8:10 AM in the Music Room.  Our first morning rehearsal will be held on Thursday, September 24th.

Auditions

Students interested in Treble Choir must complete the audition process before school on Thursday, September17 at 7:30 AM in the Music Room.  Drop-off will begin at the gym doors starting at 7:15 AM, and students should arrive on time for auditions.

During the audition, students will participate in the full choir rehearsal and will also be asked to sing in a small group. Students should come prepared to sing “My Country, ’Tis of Thee.”  Please encourage your child to practice the audition material. Your child doesn't have to be an experienced singer to join choir. We welcome students who are eager to learn, grow, and develop their singing voices.

Students will be evaluated on the following:

• Confidence in singing in a group

• Punctuality and preparedness

• Musical maturity, including the ability to follow directions, accept feedback, and practice consistently

Audition results will be posted on the VPA Music website by 6:00 PM on Friday, September 18.

Attendance Policy

Attendance is an important part of participation in all VPA music ensembles. Students who accumulate two or more unexcused absences may lose eligibility for special performance opportunities, including field trips, festivals, and other select Honor Ensemble events. Consistent attendance is expected in order to maintain group progress and ensure a successful ensemble experience for all students.
