BASEBALL
The Patriots baseball team is trying to obtain the same goal their football team counterparts have achieved, a state championship win! This season has started off slow for the team, but they have broken out and are back to their usual winning ways. With a current record of 13-5-1, this team has the potential to run it back in the state championship game, but only this time, they are hungry to bring the trophy home. With many players on the state championship team winning team for football, they know that feeling of triumph. Senior offensive lineman and now 1st basemen Andrew Martinez said this about the season “You know, I’m really excited to play in my senior year. Come away with a win and pull it off like we did in football. Fun times. We are hoping to do it again in baseball. We are almost ready for district play, and it should be fun!”. Everyone on the team is excited to play week in and week out for a chance to prove themselves as the best team in the state. With pitchers like Seniors Austin Ackel, Josh Eames, Michael O’Brien, and Alex Lagasse, opposing hitters have to play at their best for a chance to get a hit. Earlier this season, against St. Thomas Aquinas, Eames threw a no-hitter to rally a 10-0 victory! Pitching isn’t all that this team has. Opposing teams have to be careful about who they are pitching against. O’Brien has already hit a grand slam this season against division rival St. Aug for a 13-2 demolishing of the purple knights. This season Curtis can go as far as they want to achieve immortality in winning a state championship. Only time will tell if they make it, but everyone on the team is willing to bet they will!
SOFTBALL
The Lady Patriots are back at it for a chance to win another championship. With a current record of 6-3 and over half of those wins ending in a blowout for the Patriots, this team has all the potential to repeat a state championship! The opportunity to continue the championship-winning streak is there! Star Pitcher Maddison Laiche said this about her aspirations in winning a championship in her senior year “I am excited to compete for a state championship my senior year! We still hold the title of 2022 Division 1 State Champions. I am ready for playoffs that are around the corner and to go out and compete against some good teams. My teammates and I have worked really hard throughout the season, every practice, rep, and game. We’ve had our ups and downs during the season, and as a team, we’ve come together, held one another accountable, learned from our mistakes, and moved on to the next. We’ve got a really good team to win another state championship”. With an 11-3 win over East Ascension and an 11-1 win against Ponchatoula, their offensive firepower has shown to be deadly against teams. Their amazing defense has given them a chance to gain wins over close games, like a 6-3 win against a tough Calvary Baptist Academy team. Opposing teams are constantly reminded of how dangerous this team is and their past championship wins. Given enough time, this team will come back to state and come back home with a familiar state championship trophy to continue this dynasty!

Track
This year's track team is one of the fastest groups in years! With so many great players, like Justin Horne, Marlon Prout, and Emile Van Halen, this team can make a run at the state championship! Star linebacker and speedy hurdler Justin Horne was asked about his goals for this season and what he’s been doing to achieve them, and he replied with “Insert Quote Here.” Junior Emile Van Halen also has his own special goals for this season. When asked about potentially PRing right when district starts, he responded, “I feel like all the training I've done is coming together, and I'm seeing a lot of improvement. I'm ready to give it all I got to break 5 minutes in the mile!” This season has been great for the team so far and there is only going to be much more success for them! A very special thanks to Dena Buchanan aka Lil Mom for taking the track photos shown below!
