The JCCS administration presented a check for $20,204 that was raised by JCCS students towards cancer research at Ochsner Hospital. In addition, $3,300 was raised by the Patriot Nation Men's and Women's club. JCCS graduate Dr. Marc Matrana, who is the head of Precision Therapy at the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center, came to thank our students for their contribution during a special assembly. He made a special announcement that our school would receive a prestigious award from the Ochsner Foundation for the impact that our contributions have made. Through our fundraising efforts, the JCCS students, parents, and staff showed the world what it means to "Fight Like a Patriot!"
After the assembly, Mrs. Fabacher was able to show Dr. Marc Matrana and other staff members from Oschner Hospital our Anatomage Table in the science lab. They were impressed to say the least!
