Mrs. Muller teaches chemistry and physics at John Curtis and also helps with science fair and STEM club. She has been teaching here for 4 years, and her favorite subject is the sciences that she teaches. At Curtis she loves chaperoning prom, going to sporting events, and sweetheart and homecoming dress-up weeks.
Why did you become a teacher ?
“ I became a teacher because I wanted to impact kids' lives and make a difference.”
How was your high school experience ?
“I had so much fun in high school. I went to a big 5A public school in Mississippi that had a great sports program, like Curtis, and there was always so much going on and so many ways to be involved.”
Do you like teaching at a small school ?
“Yes, I used to teach at a much larger school, but I like the feeling of a small school because it allows me to have better relationships with my students.”
Coach Paige has been at Curtis for one year now. She teaches the Journalism class which produces the school yearbook and newspaper. She also teaches P.E. at the lower school, and coaches softball and girls basketball. As a Curtis alumni, she had fun in high school and had a good experience. She started teaching and coaching because she likes to mentor young students and be involved in the school system. She also says that she likes sports so much that it doesn’t feel like a job. Another one of her favorite parts of her job is watching kids get better and improve.
Do you like /coaching at a small school ?
“Yes, because I get more out of the experience by getting to know the students and my players more.”
Do you teach your favorite subject/coach your favorite sport or is it something else ?
“I do get to coach my favorite sports, basketball and softball. I like coaching those specifically because I am a photographer, and I know what to look for.”
What is your favorite school activity throughout the school year?
“I like the dress-up weeks the most."
Mrs. Fabacher has been teaching at Curtis since 2014. This is her eighth year teaching. Mrs. Fabacher became a teacher because she loves working with students and watching them thrive and grow throughout high school. During her high school years, she had fun and made a lot of great memories with her class. Mrs. Fabacher's favorite school activity is the school play. She enjoys teaching at our small school and her favorite subject to teach is biology.

Coach Tommy has been teaching at Curtis for over 30 years and chose to become a teacher because he loves working with young adults. Coach Tommy enjoys teaching at a small school. He said, “High school was a great experience for me, plus I had a great civics teacher.” (Ask around if you are wondering who his Civics teacher was!) Coach Tommy also said he loves teaching health and exercise, and he enjoys attending a variety of school events throughout the year.
