Spring Check-Out
Spring Check Out Procedures:
Residents are expected to move out 24 hours after their last final. Students who have a final on Friday are required to move out Saturday no later than 9:00 a.m.
Residents graduating or working the Commencement ceremony, can request to check out by 3:00 p.m. the day of commencement. This process is done in the RLH Portal under "Late Departure".
Attend your mandatory floor: If you move out prior to your mandatory floor meeting, please consult with your RA or your Front Desk staff about move-out procedures prior to your final preparations for departure.
Residents are expected to complete the checkout procedures that will be posted on their door before officially checking-out.
Sign up for a Check-Out Appointment with your RA
Key Return:
Residence keys must be turned in in order to avoid the $50 Key Replacement Fine. Keys should not be turned in to RA's or RD's.
During normal business hours: Go to the Student Life Office front desk and fill out the "key" envelope. Turn in your key envelope with the Student Life Front Desk
After normal business hours: Go to The Union and fill out the "key" envelope located above the desk.
Quiet Hours
24 HOUR LOBBY/QUIET HOURS
24-hour quiet hours are in effect during final exams starting the Friday before Finals week and will end Saturday after Finals week.
To be courteous to others, no opposite gender guests in the residential community during the week of final exams.
Late Departure Request
Only those that have a University need are permitted to depart late from campus without a charge.
All requests will be reviewed by the Director of Residence Life & Housing and the Housing Operations Manager.
You will need to select from the options provided in the RLH Portal as to why you need depart late.
If you do not have a University need to depart late your student account will be charged.
Request Dates:
Form opens: April 1
Form closes: April 20
If you are staying for post-season athletics, do not complete this form
Summer Housing Transition
In order to receive your summer room key, you must be clear with Student Accounts.
Transition to summer spaces will not take place at least until the week of May 1 to May 5 due to Facilities need go clean and prep the apartment spaces. Students will remain in their current spring assignment until the RLH emails "Move to your Summer Assignment".
Summer Transition students still need to sign up for a check-out time with their RA for their spring assignment. Items should be mostly packed and ready to transition.
Students will pick up their summer key in the Student Life Office prior to moving in.
Damage and Cleaning Charges
Failure to complete any of the check-out procedures may result in assessment of charges/improper checkout fines.
Charges relating to the common areas will be equally split amongst bathroom mates/suitemates and apartment mates.
Any charges relating to the apartment common areas will be equally split amongst apartment mates.
Common check-out charges:
Not signing up for check out= $25
Not showing up for your check-out time (or more than 15 minutes late) = $50
Being late or not ready for your check-out (less than 15 minutes late) = $25
Not giving proper 24 hour notice to request a change in check-out time = $25
Incomplete Check-Out or Not Checking Out= $250 (minimally and does not include other charges that could be added)
Item Removal Fee= $50/item
Not returning your key to Student Life = $50
Room and Common area damages= Assessed during check-out and vary according to cost of repair or replacement and labor
