Break Housing
Meal plans are not active and Crossroads Cafe and the Shack will be closed during Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, Spring Break and Summer Break.
If there is an open space in your room or apartment, it is very possible that a new or transfer students will be assigned to that space for the Spring semester. Please make sure that your room is ready for a new roommate before you leave. Do not leave any valuable personal items in your room while you are gone. Also, all appliances and electronics must be unplugged and perishable items removed from the common areas and refrigerator.
If you are not returning for the spring semester: you must be officially checked out no later than 9 a.m. on Saturday. Please see your RA to schedule a check-out time.
Campus will be closed December 9, 2023 – January 5, 2024
Meal plans are not active during Winter Interim. The Crossroads Cafe and The Shack will be closed during this time.
Food service closes after dinner on Friday, December 8, 2023 and will re-open dinner, Sunday, January 7, 2024
Any student staying over the winter break will need to complete the WINTER INTERIM HOUSING APPLICATION by DECEMBER 5 to ensure Residence Life staff knows who is on campus for safety and security reasons.
Winter Interim Request Dates are as follows:
November 15 – December 5
If you are not within the request period please email housing@jessup.edu. There is a $25 late processing fee (requests that come in after December 5)
Any student wanting to stay over the winter break MUST complete the Winter Interim Housing Application
Only those that have a University need are permitted to stay on campus without a charge
– example: In-season athleticsIF APPROVED TO STAY without a University Need, PLEASE KNOW THAT YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT WILL BE CHARGED A FLAT RATE OF $250
Important Reminders:
Certain appliances have not been approved for use in Jessup University Housing due to the potential fire hazard (even over Christmas/New Year’s break). Air conditioners, small residence hall (and/or large) sized refrigerators, broiler ovens, electric saucepans, electric skillets, multi-plug extension cords, four-way outlets or “cheater blocks”, hot plates, oil popcorn poppers, deep fryers, fondue pots, space heaters, electric blankets, room fans with dusty blades, and any appliance with an exposed heating unit. Any appliance or surge protector not marked “U/L Approved” is NOT allowed.
No Open Hours during Christmas Break. If open hours are broken, you will go through the judicial process.
