Commuter Application

All students are required to live on campus unless they meet the following requirements and have a completed and approved Application for Commuter Status on file with the Office of Student Life.

Students who are married or living at home with parents are free to live off campus. Student life may grant additional exceptions to live off campus if:

• the student is 22 years old or older;

• the student’s parents request permission for the student to live with a close relative who has an established home in or near Rocklin; 

• living off campus for health reasons is required by a physician (documentation is needed) or;

• the student has more than 90 units;

• the student is participating in an off-campus program, internship, or student teaching.

Financial aid policies state that “institutional aid may be coordinated to create a package of up to 50% of tuition for commuter students and up to 100% of tuition for students living on campus.”

All traditional undergraduate enrolled students must have a completed housing or commuter application every academic year.  

Fees associate with not submitting a Commuter Application:

Fall Semester

• Apply By August 15: No Penalty

• Apply August 16 to August 31: $25 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Apply September 1 to September 15: $100 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Apply September 16 to September  30: $150 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Apply November 1 to November 15: $200 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Apply November 16 to the End Of Semester: $500. Fill out commuter app for following semester and choose minimum required meal plan for spring semester.

Spring Semester

• Apply By January 15: No Penalty

• Apply January 16 to January 31: $25 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Apply February 1 to February 15: $100 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Apply February 16 to March 15: $150 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Apply March 16 to March 31: $200 plus fill out Commuter App and choose the required meal plan

• Don’t apply by  April 1: $500. Fill out commuter app for following semester and choose minimum required meal plan for spring semester.
