Language Arts: 

Learning Targets:

Students will wrap up writing a paragraph about how the main character in the book has changed. We will also discuss the theme development in each book. Students will continue to work on varying sentence structure.

We will explore the book of Job and how he lost everything good in his life, but that he also never lost his faith in God.

Science:

Learning Targets: 

This week in science we will continue our unit on Heredity and Adaptations. We will continue with our exploration of genes and heredity through the use of our fun and fictional group of animals called "larkeys". We will learn important terms such as: Dominant, recessive, genotype, phenotype, heterozygous, & homozygous. We will also begin the use of "Punnett Squares" and explore how genes are passed through generations, sometimes "disappearing" and "reappearing".

Social Studies: We will discuss Shi Huangdi and the idea of legalism.  We will also explore the religions of Confucianism and Taoism.

Math: In the upcoming week students will finish their unit on Multiplying and Dividing Rational Numbers. Our learning target will cover how to divide rational numbers. We'll then start preparing for our upcoming assessment.
