Adelante is a non-profit organization in Louisville, Kentucky devoted to empowering Latinx youth. We engage our Achievers and parents in long-term academic, mentoring, and personal enrichment programs. We believe that with guidance and support, every student can achieve, whatever that means for them. While we endorse higher education as the surest tool for success, we recognize there are various paths toward successful and fulfilling lives. Our programs focus on five core pillars and are designed to encourage the holistic development of our Achievers in close partnership with their parents and families. Lastly, our programs and services are provided free of charge to our Achievers and their families.
Since 1979, the YMCA Black Achievers program has been inspiring high school students to pursue their highest potential. Based at the Chestnut Street Family YMCA and open to students across Greater Louisville, this year-long initiative includes monthly cluster workshops, leadership seminars, college prep, and hands-on career exploration.
Teens build self-esteem, form community connections, and gain the skills to thrive—in school, in careers, and in life.
