BHFRC

What is the Bloom/Hawthrone Family Resource Center (BHFRC)?

We are part of the Jefferson County Public School (JCPS) District and were created as an integral part of—and are funded through—the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA). We are a team of people working together to give students and their families easier access to educational, health, and human services. We believe that by providing support to the family, we can enhance a child’s success and give them the opportunity to lead happy, healthy lives and to succeed in school. This support is provided by linking families with community agencies and resources that will enrich the lives of the children and families in our community.

Our Mission

The mission of the Bloom/Hawthorne Family Resource Center (BHFRC) is to promote the flow of services, resources, and supports to families in ways that strengthen their functioning and help build a bridge between the school, home, and community. We work together with students and their families to help enhance the growth and development of individual members and the family unit as they learn to shape the social and environmental forces that affect their daily lives.

We believe that by helping to remove barriers that interfere with learning, we can help our students achieve and succeed, becoming productive members of society.
