Every student has a life whether they center their activities around their in-school lives or out of school. Most of the time journalism and individuals generally don’t focus on them and their experiences. I understand that there are plenty of important and massive events going on around the world that deserve our attention; however, it brings no harm to also bring attention to the little things, the little victories that the average person has and enjoys day by day. I think that this is important to feature because it not only shows that there are people who care about us everyday people, but also that there are still people out there living life day by day. Not everything is about the huge world issues. People living the customary life are often overlooked, and I want to be the one to give them the spotlight. -Rhaegan
Food is culture: In many places, people are afraid to explore new foods because they are afraid of trying new things, and sometimes people are just used to and content with the food in their own culture. However, it never hurts to try something new, and that is what our Spanish teacher - Eugenia Rodriguez-Jaquez, has done. In this class, we were learning about different hispanic foods and how they tie into their culture, so part of what we did was help her make an authentic dish called quesadillas as well as pupusas.
Friends are family:
A person who will listen and not condemn. Someone on who you can depend. They will not flee when bad times are here. Instead, they will be there to lend an ear. They will think of ways to make you smile. So you can be happy for a while. When times are good and happy there after. They will be there to share the laughter. Do not forget your friends at all For they pick you up when you fall. Do not expect to just take and hold Give friendship back, it is pure gold. -Gillian Jones
Throwbackkkk:
Spirit days at the JGBS are more fun than ever before. We, with the bolstering support and ideas from our pep club, are having more creative and fun loving spirit weeks. Showing spirit allows our students of all ages to come together and show love for our school and sports teams.
