Hello parents,

Can you believe it’s the last week of the school year??  I say this every year but this year has flown by.  I look back at all the progress the kiddos made since the beginning of the year, even those who started mid year or even within the last couple weeks of school.  I’ll share a quick update on what the kiddos worked on last week.  This week our theme will be kindergarten.  We have some writing that’ll be reflective writing on what we worked on this year and a fun kindergarten book.

For reading this week we read a few books.   We read pigs aplenty, Pigs Galore.  This was a funny/silly book which fit our theme.  We also read; Never Let A Unicorn Wear a Tutu.  This book was super cute and fun.  The last book we read was the underwear book by Todd Parr.  All these books I just had the kiddos listen, but a few of them did raise their hands to make comments in their communication systems, which is what we work on all year.  So it’s amazing to see them initiate a comment 🙂

Writing this week we rolled several silly sentences.

Our phonics was a wrap up of all the letter sounds and names.

This week we will be having water day on WEDNESDAY.  I’ll send a talking point the night before.  But on Wednesday please have your kiddos lathered with sunscreen, pack a swim diaper and swimsuit, as we will be outside playing in the water for most of the day.

Thursday is the last day of preschool for the year.  If your little one is graduating it is Friday at 9:30.  Please arrive by 9:15 so we can get them in their cap and gown and make sure to bring the tissues!
