Coach Shane Starbuck

Shane Starbuck is a sports management professional with a background in athletics, from Arvada, Colorado. His journey into the world of sports began at Ralston Valley, where he graduated in 2018. Shane earned him the distinction of being named All-Conference twice, solidifying his status as a formidable force on the field. His achievements didn't stop there; Shane made history as the first athlete recruited to play NCAA lacrosse from the Ralston Valley program, setting a precedent for future generations of aspiring players.


Following his high school success, Shane pursued his passion for sports management at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, where he spent two years immersed in the study of the field. During his time at Florida Southern he was named two times to the SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. He then transferred to Colorado Mesa University in 2020, embarking on a new chapter in his academic and athletic journey. While at Colorado Mesa he was named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll two years in a row and won an RMAC Championship as a player. 


In May of 2022, Shane proudly received his bachelor's degree in Sport Management while simultaneously showcasing his talents as a lacrosse player at the NCAA Division II level. Building upon this success, Shane went on to achieve his Masters in Sport Management in August of 2023. 


During his time pursuing his master's degree, Shane served as a Graduate Assistant at Colorado Mesa University, where he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience within the athletic department. An athletic department which boasts a prestigious reputation as one of the top 20 programs in the country. Shane contributed to their stellar achievements, including leading the nation in various statistical categories such as scoring offense, defense, faceoff proficiency, and clearing percentage; topped off with another RMAC Championship.
