Students Should Grade Teachers Teaching?

Grading is a teacher's job, so you think. But what happens if the student can grade the teacher's teaching? Pure chaos? I think not, I think it would help the teacher and help the students. This is a win-win situation.

First off, grades are not the most important thing for a student. For me they help me feel more motivated to do the best I can. But what about teachers? Teachers need motivation, teachers need to understand what they are doing wonderfully and what they can approve on. Fellow 6th grader Lindsey Flanagan states ,” Yes I think this would be a great idea because if a student is not enjoying a teacher's teaching like how nice they are the teacher should know and should learn to get better.” This statement from Flanagan agrees with the evidence from the site Should Students be able to Grade their Teachers? it also stated, “Students should be able to grade their teachers because it gives the teachers a better idea of how they are performing in class and gives the students a chance to share their opinions and experiences.” I mean why not , how much harm could students staging their opinions cause? According to the same site “Not only will it help teachers, but it will also give students responsibility. The last reason why students should be able to grade their teachers is the students will get to express their opinions and feelings about their teachers and possibly the school.” Both of these pieces of evidence support the claim that teachers have different methods on teaching the students. Some students may feel this method is helpful, others may feel that is not what the teacher needs to know so they can grow and change.

The other stance says that teachers should not be graded because of the irresponsibility some students may have. Student Haven Enser states, I think that it's important for teachers to be able to have a say, but then again kids can pick their favorite teachers or not favorite. Making this feel unfair at some points for teachers, but I do think that students should be able to grade their teachers teaching.” Here I hope that people will be responsible for this. In conclusion, I believe that teachers should be graded by the students because it is a bonus for students and teachers.
