Tests are given every other week and reminders will be in planners. Students will have a list of words based on their pre-assessment at the beginning of the year. There will also be the opportunity to add two individual words for the week. Spelling homework is based on time. A resource "menu" is in homework folders. Another option to practice words is spellingcity.com
use a deck of cards and play war, students need to add the cards together, or multiply the cards- whoever answers first gets the cards!
roll two dice… add them together or multiply them together
mad minutes at home, times for one minute- need to get at least 40 problems done in a minute to be considered “fluent.”

read with your child and make your finger go just a little faster than their regular speed and see if they can stay up with your finger
