Jazz Band Information!
Jazz Band is an ensemble comprised of the typical jazz horn section (saxophone/trombone/trumpet) as well as the rhythm section (piano/guitar/bass/drumset/vibes). We prepare intermediate/advanced literature while learning improvisation. Co-curricular enrollment in a concert band class is mandatory for jazz bands (some exceptions made for guitar/piano - bass players need to be enrolled in an orchestra course and will learn upright bass). This is a high-level, auditioned group-you must audition to be in the class.Â
This group participates in concerts & festivals and gigs regularly at community and school events.
Congratulations to the 2025-2026 Jazz Band for their Superior Rating at the UNC Jazz Festival in Greeley, CO! This Festival is the largest jazz festival in the state-we are so proud of you!
