Dakota Ridge High School has had an active FIRST Robotics Team every year since 2006. The team was originally formed by technology teacher Bill Schmidt. After he retired in 2016 the new engineering teacher continued the team. We have always been a small team (less than 20 students) but we hope to grow the team to become more competitive in our region. FIRST Robotics is an excellent complement to our school's Engineering Program and we encourage all interested students to join. We are always looking for corporate sponsors and mentors to guide and assist the students as they design, build, program, and test their robotic creations. Please contact our coach, Chris Gray, to find out more about supporting our team. christopher.gray2@jeffco.k12.co.us
Wired-Up! was thrilled with our success in 2023 and the students are working hard to keep it going.
By designing our robot to be an excellent complement to high scoring robots, the top ranked team chose us to join their alliance for the Finals of the 2023 Colorado Regional FIRST Robotics Competition. Scoring in autonomous and tele-operation modes and always balancing on the charge at the end of each round our robot assisted our alliance to go undefeated and thus Winning the Colorado Regional. This give our team its first chance to attend the FRC World Championship in Houston Texas last April. This was an amazing experience and our returning team members look forward to doing it again.
