Columbine High School Boy's Tennis team players are model students, great sportsmen and fierce competitors.
Sportsmanship
"Sportsmanship for me is when a guy walks off the court and you really can't tell whether he won or lost, when he carries himself with pride either way."
- Jim Courier
"Victory is in the quality of competition and not the final score."
- Mike Marshall
Supporting teammates, supporting the game, respecting opponents. We are all here because we love the game of tennis. We strive to be the best we can be in all aspects of the game, including fairness and friendly competition.
Hard Work
"Success is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome."
- Arthur Ashe
"Nothing can substitute for just plain hard work."
- Andre Agassi
Working hard is how we improve. We become better on and off the court through determination and resilience.
Improve
"You always want to win. That is why you play tennis because you love the sport and try to be the best you can at it."
- Roger Federer
"For me losing a tennis match isn't a failure, it's research."
- Billie Jean King
Winning is great. Everybody loves to win. Winning or losing, it's about being our best self on and off the court. It is impossible to lose if you can find something to improve or learn about yourself or the game, no matter what the score is.
Have Fun
“I love the winning, I can take the losing, but most of all I love to play.”
-Boris Becker
The main reason I play tennis is that I enjoy it! For me, there is little purpose to working hard to improve without having fun along the way. That's why we strive to make practices and our season a fun experience for everyone on the team!
