This course focuses on the development of advanced performance skills specific to wind instruments. Students participate in in-depth studies of wind literature, music theory and music history. Performances include school concerts, community events, contests and festivals.
Every effort is made to enable the student to grow musically and to perform to their potential. Entry to this class is by audition only. Students are also eligible to participate in extra-curricular musical events such as chamber ensembles, pit orchestra for the musical, auditions for Jeffco Honor Band, All-State Band and other honor ensembles.
Additional private study is strongly encouraged.

All supplies pertaining specifically to their instrument (i.e. reeds, valve oil, etc)
Tuners and metronomes are required (may use free app downloaded to phone)

Students will be expected to keep their instruments in working condition, clean instruments regularly (weekly and monthly) and facilitate repairs immediately
