Summit Cheer Club

By: Olivia Havig

There is a new club at Summit as of Tuesday, November 29! The Summit Cheer Club is new to our school. The school cheer club meets every Tuesday from 3:00 to 3:45 after school, in Expedition. The Cheer Club is not competitive, there are no competitions. It is simply for anyone who loves cheer! People practice and learn cheers and have fun being creative. This is a student run club, so all are welcome. Cheer is new to Summit and it will be a fun and interesting way to try a new thing. There are no uniforms in the cheer club, because they do not compete. If the cheer club sounds interesting to you, there is still time to sign up!

World Languages

By Hailey D.

I chose world language to talk about for the summit newspaper. In world language the teacher is Mrs Douglass. In the class we learn about French and Spanish. We did worksheets to help us learn many things. We learned how to count up to thirty one in Spanish in that class because we wrote a speech about our birthdays for an assignment. We did lessons in Spanish and French and practiced speaking to each other and the whole class. Mrs Douglass helped us to learn by repeating things many times to help us remember and said the meaning to help us know what is meant. Most of the class is on paper and almost nothing is on an iPad. She helped us to learn many simple phrases and words in a very short time. I think learning different languages was fun. I would definitely recommend this class. Bye!

Meet Mrs. Schoelerman

By Jenkins

Mrs. Schoelerman said she loves working with children, and she wanted to teach her children as well, she enjoys working with her co workers which is one of the reasons she got the job.

She has a few hobbies and interest outside of work. She likes to craft, and she’s very busy with her kids. She considers it a full time job.

She has been working here for several years. This is her fourth year.

Was there anything else you would have or could have done if you didn't become staff? Mrs Schelerman said if she wasn’t a staff member she would continue to work at the clinic.

She went to lots of colleges listed all here, Dmacc, Missouri, Western state university.
