Career Planning Resources

The resources below will provide JHS students and their families with additional options for sites to investigate potential careers for life beyond JHS.

As you look over these resources, please consider the following:

    • Required Training- how can you prepare yourself for next steps while at JHS?

    • Job demand- is this a growing or shrinking career field?

    • Please consider the impact on lifestyle that a potential career could bring to your adult life. Does the career fit with the way you want to live? Use your free time?

    • Personal strengths; does this career field play into your personal strengths as a person? You could use the "do what you are" assessment on Naviance to help clarify this question!

    • Do not look at career options through a MONEY only view; it is a component but consider the career as a whole as well as the education/training that is required
