Most colleges require that you are taking A - G classes. The good thing is that your counselors will steer you on the right track to make sure you are A - G eligible. Not sure if you are? Here are the A - G requirements:
History / Social Science (2 years) "A"
English (4 years) "B"
Math (3 years required; 4 years recommended) "C"
Laboratory Science (2 years required; 3 years recommended) "D"
Language Other than English (2 years required; 3 years recommended) "E"
Visual and Performing Arts (1 year) "F"
College Preparatory Elective (1 year) "G"
Still not sure? Make sure to talk to your counselor if you are worried you aren't on the right track to being A - G eligible
What type of university is right for you? Public or private? Small or large? Close to home or far away? These are all questions you should be asking yourself. Do your research on these questions and see what you prefer in a university. Want some advice? Talk to your advisor!
This may be a little hard to do right now, but that doesnt mean you can't think ahead for next year! Are there any clubs on campus that interest you? If not, maybe you would like to start one!
How about sports? Do you play any? If so, try out for the team!
Do you do anything outside of school? Help out your parents, work, play a club sport, etc.? If not, it's never too late to join for next year!
Clubs, sports, and extracurriculars (ie activities after school) all look great to colleges. See about trying a few out!
Your advisors are trained to help you with the entire college process. Not sure what you should be doing? Ask them! Have a specific problem/question? Ask them! When in doubt, always ask your advisor! They are here to support you in any way they can :)
