The Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) is a non-profit organization based in San Francisco. Within JCYC, there are three college access programs: Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search (ETS), and the San Francisco College Access Center (SFCAC). Each school within your district may have all or some of these programs. Want to learn more about each program? Read below!
Upward Bound serves high school students in San Francisco with comprehensive college and career preparation. The program targets low-income high school students who represent the first generation of college bound students in their families.
The year-round program serves 150 eligible students each year, offering an academic year of services and an intensive, six-week summer program. Students are recruited during their freshman and sophomore years and they continue participating until they graduate high school.

ETS identifies, selects and assists low-income youth who have the potential to be the first-generation of their family to graduate from high school and enroll in a four-year college or university. Though this program focuses on low income, first generation students, ETS is committed to serving all students.

SAT/ACT test information and application assistance

SFCAC provides college preparation information and assistance. The program is open for all students at your respective high school, but SFCAC specifically focuses on students who are low income and/or first in their family to attend college.
