**GRADUATION PRACTICE IS MANDATORY FOR ALL GRADUATES**
IMPORTANT: Your prompt arrival is essential to ensure we have enough time to rehearse our graduation ceremony within our scheduled time at the arena. Only seniors will be permitted inside the arena during graduation practice.
BUS TRANSPORTATION: (Registered Students Only)
Parents/guardians of seniors will receive a ParentSquare message with the Graduation Bus Transportation Permission Form for Graduation Rehearsal.
Parents/guardians must complete the form by Friday, April 24th for students who plan to use school bus transportation to the rehearsal.
Buses will load at 3:00 PM for a 3:15 PM departure
Anticipated Return Time to JCHS: Between 6:15 PM and 6:30 PM
If the school does not receive a signed permission form, the senior will not be allowed to ride the bus to the Class of 2026 JCHS Graduation Rehearsal on May 15, 2026.
GRADUATION PRACTICE PARKING & DROP-OFF INSTRUCTIONS:
Parking Location:
Use the Classic Center Parking Deck, located off North Thomas Street.
Drivers might incur a small parking fee- card only.
When You Arrive:
Let the parking attendant know you are there for JCHS Graduation Practice.
After confirming, follow the parking deck instructions.
You’ll enter on Level 5.
To Reach the Arena:
Take the elevator or stairs down to Level 2.
Exit onto the plaza level and follow the signs to Gate 1 or Gate 2 of Akins Ford Arena.
Use Foundry Street for student drop-off
Enter Foundry Street from East Broad Street.
Staff will direct you to the correct drop-off area.
Students can enter at Gate 2, located on the plaza level just steps from the drop-off zone.
ADA drop-off is available on Foundry Street.
The parking deck and arena are ADA accessible with elevators to all levels.
AKINS FORD ARENA SECURITY:
Akins Ford Arena enforces a clear bag policy. You can find full details about the clear bag policy here.
Per the Akins Ford Arena website, the following items are prohibited from being brought into Akins Ford Arena:
Outside food and beverages, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, backpacks, computer bags, camera bags, electronic devices larger than a cell phone, professional cameras, cameras with detachable lenses, GoPro cameras, selfie sticks, and laser pointers. Glitter, confetti, inflatable toys, or other projectiles are also prohibited. Toy replicas of weapons are not permitted. Firearms and weapons of any kind, including mace and pepper spray, are not permitted in Akins Ford Arena. Akins Ford Arena reserves the right to refuse entry for any items not listed here that are deemed inappropriate.
Security Screening: At Akins Ford Arena, each guest is required to undergo a security screening. Metal detectors will be set at each entrance for those who are able to step through them. Alternative screenings will be available for expectant mothers, wheelchair-bound guests, and guests who have other medical conditions which restrict them from using metal detectors. All guests entering the venue must go through security.
