Course Description: Health Education is a one-semester course that focuses on developing knowledge, concepts, skills, behaviors, and attitudes related to student health and well- being. Topics of learning and discussion are: (1) Growth and Development; (2) Mental Health and Emotional Health; (3) Community and Environmental Health; (4) Nutrition; (5) Family Life; (6) Consumer Health; (7) Personal Health; (8) Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs; (9) Intentional and Unintentional Injury; and (10) Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.

Fulfills the Physical Education requirement for all diploma types. The Class of 2028 and before are required to earn 2 PE credits. The Class of 2029 and after are required to earn 1 PE credit.
Course Description: Physical Education 1 is an introduction to individual and team sports and physical activities. The class will include physical assessment tests, supervised activities and games, along with the development of individual skills and team concepts. Coordination, flexibility, agility, muscular strength, and cardiovascular fitness will be emphasized throughout the course.

Course Description: Recreational Lifting and Fitness will focus on specific training for bodybuilding, CrossFit, and general fitness. The course will focus on development and progress goals set by students interested in more intense training, as opposed to organized games or recreational sports. Weight room, active recovery, and exercise training will be based on individualized student goals and different various types of training.

Course Description: Recreational Physical Education will serve as an advanced physical education class. It will focus on learning how to play, officiate, and compete in recreational sports and games. Recreational Physical Education will focus on allowing kids the opportunity to play more competitive games, learn more in depth rules and regulations, and play more advanced sports and games that couldn’t be done in PE 1. Opportunities such as officiating, exposure to multicultural games, and higher level competition will all be a large part in this course.

Course Description: Introduction to Athletic Performance introduces students to the fundamentals of strength training, physical fitness, and athletic development. Designed for beginners, the class emphasizes proper technique, safety, and lifelong healthy habits. Students will learn how to perform bodyweight, resistance, and mobility exercises. The goal for this course is to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, and overall conditioning of students.

Course Description: Athletic Performance will serve as an advanced strength and conditioning course for athletes. It will focus on specific training for all sports provided by the school as well as recovery and treatment for those athletes that are in or out of their sport season. Athletic Performance will focus on development for the In Season differences compared to the out of season differences for athletes. Weight room, sprint training, active recovery, and exercise training will be based on individualized sports and athletes.

Course Description: Sports Medicine provides students with information on how to prevent, recognize, and treat injuries that commonly occur in sports and physical activity. As students gain this practical experience, they will be laying foundation for continued study in athletic training or other health related fields, such as nursing, physical therapy, paramedics, and medicine. The topics covered in the course are based on skills recommended by the National Athletic Training Association, the regulatory body for Athletic Trainers in the United States.
