All licensed certified staff and administrators in Jackson County Public Schools is required by the state to complete 20 hours (2 CEUs) in digital learning each renewal cycle. These hours address the North Carolina Digital Learning Competencies. There are two sets of competencies, one for classroom teachers and one for administrators. The Instructional Technology Facilitators offer several avenues for teachers to receive this credit:
Each of these video PD courses is a 1 hour course worth .1 CEUs. Topics include: LMS Platforms, Basic Technology How-Tos, Video Creation, Platforms (Google, Microsoft Office), and others. To receive credit for these courses, please complete the quiz for the course. This will give access to the form to request a Certificate of Completion. This form will be used by the instructional technology team to enter credit for the course in My Learning Plan.

These courses, available from the JCPS instance of Canvas, are worth between 2 and 5 contact hours or .2-.5 CEUs. Topics include Online Blended Learning, Google G-Suite, Microsoft Office Tools, Canvas Basics, Breakouts, One Note and other DPI courses aimed at assisting teachers and administrators with meeting requirements for licensure by the state (Digital Learning Competencies). Participants will complete a form at the end of each course to request a Certificate of Completion. This form will be used by the instructional technology team to enter credit for the course in My Learning Plan.
