I am a Master's level Clinical Social Worker, graduated from Michigan State University, currently working as a General Education Social Worker. In this role, I provide brief therapeutic interventions, case management, and I enjoy facilitating groups for general education students and their families. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and skills-based Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approaches, while also leveraging community resources to support students and families in overcoming challenges and improving their well-being.

My responsibilities are centered around
removing barriers for our students
experiencing homelessness and ensure that
they receive the same educational experience
as their housed peers. I work directly with LEAs
for the identification of children and youth
experiencing homelessness and to provide
them with resources needed. I also work with
our special populations. My responsibility is to
build a system of support for each group inside
of schools to support their educational experience.

Attendance, Truancy, & Special Pops Coordinator
As the Attendance Officer, I work with
families to address the barriers to regularly
attending school and connect youth and
families to community resources. The
attendance officer provides coaching and
training to schools on evidence-based
strategies to improve attendance. Also, the
JCISD attendance officer collaborates with
the Jackson County prosecutors office to
enforce school attendance laws.

In leading the Whole Child Team; I oversee,
monitor and support grants, budgets and
projects; represent JCISD in collective
impact spaces within our local schools and
at the community and state levels; lead or
facilitate professional learning, networking
and collaborating opportunities; advocate
for whole child non-academic supports;
provide consultation and coaching to
schools around the WSCC model and other
frameworks and systems; and foster
partnerships between schools and
community partners.
